Carnival Calabar 2024 ends on a high note, as Calas Vegas emerges overall winner

CARNIVALWINNERS: The Carnival Calabar 2024 came to a close on December 28, 2024, after a month-long celebration of music, dance, and culture, with Calas Vegas adjudged as the band of the year.
The carnival, which is one of the largest and most popular in Africa, attracted thousands of visitors from all over the world.
The event featured a range of activities, including street parties, cultural performances, and competitions.
The grand finale of the carnival was held at the U.J. Esuene Stadium in Calabar, where thousands of revelers gathered to watch the final performances. The event featured a range of performances, including music, dance, and acrobatic displays.
The highlight of the event was the announcement of the winners of the various competitions, including the Cultural Carnival, Local Government, Junior Carnival, and Band of the Year categories.
Announcing the results of the Carnival Calabar 2024, Akwa Ibom took the top spot in the Cultural Carnival category. Osun came in second, while Delta took third place.
In the Local Government category, Yakurr emerged victorious, with Calabar South and Odukpani taking second and third place respectively.
The Junior Carnival category saw Calas Vegas take the top spot, with Seagull and Bayside coming in second and third.
In the highly competitive Band of the Year category, Calas Vegas once again emerged victorious, with Seagull and Freedom taking second and third place.
